FAQ's

  • Who can attend the Champagne Ball?

Anyone over the age of 20 years, and who buys a ticket, can attend the Champagne Ball.

  • Who usually attends the Champagne Ball?

Anyone interested in associating with the international community of Nagoya/Chubu. Typically, but not necessarily, those associated with the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) and/or the Tokai Japan Canada Society (TJCS) make up the majority of attendees. However, the Ball is open to anyone who purchases a ticket to attend.

  • Do I need to be a member of ACCJ or TJCS?

No. You do not need to be a member of either organization to attend this event. Everyone is welcome, please join us!

  • What is the dress code?

The dress code is business formal. Black tie is also welcome. Many attendees also choose to dress according to the theme.

  • Is it a costume party?

No. While we encourage guests to come clad to match our specific theme, this is not intended to be a tacky Halloween party.

We find that about 20% of our guests dress for the theme, about 30% dress black-tie formal, and the rest (50%) come in tasteful business attire.

  • What's the theme this year?

For 2024, we are having a Rhythm and Blues/Blues Brothers theme. The music, the food, and decor will be influenced by the 1980 film The Blues Brothers.

It's still a formal affair; come in black-tie, business formal, or dressed as your favorite Blues Brother!

  • How much does it cost and what is included?

The cost to attend is ¥16,000 per person.

This includes everything you need for a great evening.

    • pre-dinner drinks and appetizers
    • premium buffet dinner and dessert
    • all-you-can-drink for 3.5 hours
    • fantastic live entertainment

Entry also gets you a raffle ticket to win airline tickets, hotel and restaurant vouchers and a variety of other goods and services.

  • Do I need to bring money to spend on the night?

Nope! Well, not for food, drinks, and entertainment.

However, we encourage you to bring a little extra cash for the raffle. You see, proceeds from the raffle go to the Chubu Children's Fund. The more tickets you buy, the greater your chances of winning a great prize, and then it is win-win for everyone!

  • Where can I get tickets?

There are no actual paper tickets. Your seat is secured via reservation and pre-payment. On the night of the Ball, you simply check-in with your name where you will receive your table number and raffle ticket.
